Getting Better with Every Little Step

The Reba McEntire Center for Rehabilitation

After a debilitating illness or injury, learning to walk or talk again can be a difficult and painful challenge that can take weeks, even months, to accomplish. Milestones may be few and far between, but at Texoma Medical Center’s Reba McEntire Center for Rehabilitation in Denison, each step is celebrated as a grand stride in the journey back to a normal life.

Certified by The Joint Commission, the Reba McEntire Center for Rehabilitation meets strict guidelines for care, safety and excellence. This means that residents of North Texas and Southern Oklahoma can count on quality, personalized care for all their rehabilitation needs.

A Multidisciplinary Approach

The Reba McEntire Center for Rehabilitation provides physical, occupational and speech therapy. It offers specialized programs designed to help patients with neuromuscular, cardiac, orthopedic and developmental diseases; traumatic injuries; and physical and cognitive disabilities.

Treatments vary depending upon the condition and can include:

  • Individual therapy
  • Communication skills retraining
  • Nutritional counseling
  • Cognitive testing and retraining
  • Home management skills education
  • Support groups
  • Family conferences

Meeting Physical, Emotional & Social Needs

The Reba McEntire Center employs a dedicated, in-house medical director who coordinates programs and oversees overall service quality. To deliver multidisciplinary therapies, the staff includes 24-hour rehab nurses, physical and occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, social workers and case mangers.

The Center offers more than advanced facilities and equipment. Those in the 21-bed inpatient unit also benefit from the relaxed, compassionate atmosphere that feels less like an institution and more like home.

Because aquatic therapy can be helpful to many patients, the Reba McEntire Center features an Aquatic Center with a year-round indoor pool. The 20-by-40-foot pool is also available for community classes.

Personalized Rehab Programs

Whether recovering from an orthopedic injury, stroke, or surgery, patients will receive one-on-one, multidisciplinary therapy, three hours a day, seven days a week. Individual therapy programs are set up for patients upon physician referral.

Nearly Two Decades of Making a Difference

Since 1995, the Reba McEntire Center for Rehabilitation has helped many patients get back in the saddle. The Center was built using the nearly $1.5 million raised by country star Reba McEntire through benefit concerts.
