Help — and Hope on the Horizon

Mental Health

By TMC Behavioral Health Center

In 2012, nearly 44 million American adults experienced a diagnosable mental illness, and according to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, less than half received any mental health services. But there is hope. With determination — and the right care — life can get better.

That’s where the TMC Behavioral Health Center (BHC) can help.

Changing Lives, One Patient at a Time

The BHC offers both inpatient and outpatient programs for adults ages 18 and older. The Center strives to improve the quality of life for patients and their families, using appropriate psychiatric crisis interventions for a wide range of mental health disorders.

From depression, anxiety and substance abuse; to psychosis, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and beyond, the BHC’s treatment options include:

  • Individual therapy
  • Group therapy
  • Family therapy
  • Medication management
  • Electroconvulsive therapy (ECT)

An intensive outpatient program with special 24-hour psychiatric programs for adults and older adults are also available.

Treatment is provided by a professional, multidisciplinary team led by psychiatrists. The team includes clinical social workers, occupational and recreational therapists, nurses, and chaplains.

A Tradition of Excellence

The BHC has served as the premier mental health and substance abuse treatment provider in North Texas and Southern Oklahoma for more than two decades. Since 2003, the Center has been named a “Best Practice Site” and accredited by The Joint Commission. The BHC’s programs are backed by the comprehensive healthcare services of Texoma Medical Center.
