A History of Caring

Our flagship hospital, Kindred Hospital New Orleans, has been in operation longer than any LTAC hospital in New Orleans. We have another location, Kindred Hospital West Jefferson, in Marrero, and Kindred Hospital Algiers is scheduled to open this spring.

With two decades of experience, we recognize the importance of understanding and preparing for individual needs prior to patient arrival. The result is a less traumatic and stressful transition process for both patients and families.

Our hospitals provide a higher level of service than skilled nursing facilities or care centers. Patients have 24-hour access to physicians and will be seen at least once per day by the attending physician.

Who Do We Care For?

Our hospitals are generally the most suitable setting for patients with diagnoses of:

• pulmonary disease

• cardiac disease

• severe wounds

• kidney disease

Our hospitals manage more ventilators and employ more respiratory therapists than any other healthcare provider in America.

We believe that early rehabilitation is essential for recovering strength and function. Our rehabilitation team includes:

• physical therapists

• occupational therapists

• speech-language pathologists

Assessment of the patient begins immediately, and service may be provided six days a week. The duration of daily therapy sessions will depend upon the patient’s tolerance level.

We encourage you to tour our facilities and meet our dedicated and caring staff for yourself. For more information, please contact Tim Couret, RN, BSN, area director of marketing at 504-256-4223.
