Traditional full face lifts used to require weeks of at home recovery. So many of the patients who came to Premier Image Cosmetic and Laser Surgery seeking facial rejuvenation simply didn’t have the time or desire to stay home from work and social activities for several weeks. The facial plastic surgeons at Premier Image, Dr. William Silver and Dr. Louis DeJoseph, wanted a way to offer their patients the results they desired without the downtime. Together they developed the QT Mini Face Lift™.

So, what is the difference between the QT Mini Face Lift™ and a full face lift? First, with the QT Mini Face Lift™ there are fewer incisions, about a third less than a full face lift. There is less manipulation of the tissues resulting in less bruising and much shorter recovery time. Patients usually are able to return to work and social activities in as little as three to five days. Also, you do not have to be put to sleep. The QT Mini Facelift™ can be performed under local anesthesia and oral medications.

This is where the differences end. The similarities about both of these procedures are that they both tighten the face, the jaw line and the neck line. They also tighten the muscle layer underneath the skin. The area of muscle being referred to is called the “SMAS.” It is a strong muscular area located underneath the skin. Once the skin is lifted, that muscle layer is tightened. That is what builds in the contours into the jaw line, tightens the neck line and across the entire face. This is something fairly unique that is included in the QT Mini Face Lift™.

Many of the mini lifts are actually skin lifts where the skin is just lifted up, brought back and then sewed into place. This works amazingly well. The drawback to this is that it doesn’t last. After just a couple of months the skin will start to sag and drop again. By incorporating the techniques that are used in a traditional face lift, one can get the same longevity out of the QT Mini Face Lift™ that is achieved in traditional face lifting.

The QT Mini Facelift™ addresses the lower face and the neck using minimal incisions. The incision is hidden in the hairline, just above the ear and continues down, camouflaged in the creases in front of the ear or just inside the ear itself , curving around the earlobe, continuing in the crease behind the ear. In general, the QT Mini Facelift ™ has the same technique and longevity as the traditional full facelift, but addresses a smaller area of concern.

The QT Mini Facelift™ can be coupled with other procedures such as eye lift, brow lift, chin and/ or cheek augmentation, lip enhancement, and CO2 laser skin resurfacing.  All options can be discussed at the patient’s consultation. At this time pictures are taken of the patient and computer imaging is done by the doctor so that the patient can actually see what they could look like after the surgery.

The QT Lift™ is performed in the state-of-the-art, out-patient surgery center. The surgery center is operated by Northside Hospital and only doctors of anesthesia and fully trained and accredited staff members are chosen to provide patients with the highest standards of safety in a comfortable, home-like environment with luxurious accommodations and privacy.
