Are you suffering from back or neck pain?

By Robert May, Progressive Rehab, Linn County LIVING WELL Magazine

When you have back or neck pain, it can affect your entire life. Constant pain can make you irritable and easily frustrated, affecting not only you, but your family, job and friends as well.  Pain can affect your social life, making it impossible to enjoy many of the fun and relaxing activities you like to do. New technology, non-surgical spinal decompression, may well be the answer to resolving your back or neck pain.

While there are a variety of potential underlying causes for back pain, the most common cause is related to the intervertebral disc. You can think of the discs as shock absorbers for the spine. When a disc loses fluid content, disc degeneration begins, resulting in damaging changes within the disc. The discs are also extremely sensitive to pressure. Any long term increase in pressure quickly leads to degeneration of the disc. When the discs degenerate several changes may happen, which can cause you severe pain.

The goal of our NSSD clinic is to safely and painlessly restore the disc’s health. Spinal decompression has been proven to be an effective way to treat many of the causes of lower back and neck pain caused by problems such as disc herniations, or bulging discs, disc degenerative disease and sciatica.
