Saluting Our Veterans and Seniors – A Daily Commitment
Salt Lake City LIVING WELL Magazine
At MBK Senior Living we believe honoring our elders, especially the rank of those who donned a uniform to defend our country’s freedoms, is a daily commitment. Here in Salt Lake City, our Wellington and Cottonwood Creek communities are dedicated to enhancing the lives of the seniors they serve – residents like Alan Anderson and Bill Hurst.
Anderson and Hurst were among the 16 million veterans who served our country during World War II. A native of Utah, Anderson served as a fighter pilot and was part of an award-winning squadron. Anderson and Hurst both served in multiple Army units performing numerous jobs including platoon sergeant, chief clerk and communications maintenance.
With commitment and courage, these men served to preserve our freedom and choice, which is why we couldn’t be more honored to serve them now. War veterans and their spouses can qualify to receive a tax-free pension from the VA. Cottonwood Creek and The Wellington work closely with volunteer veteran advocates who fill out paperwork and do financial planning necessary to receive the tax-free pension for prospective residents.
Dedicated to providing quality service to our residents and their families, our communities go beyond basic needs and medical assistance to provide an environment to live life well. Here, residents find amenities, services and programs that are designed to stimulate their mind, body and spirit.
Throughout The Wellington and Cottonwood Creek, you’ll find residents enjoying a delicious meal in our fine dining rooms, sharing stories and life experiences with new friends and neighbors, benefiting from a full calendar of activities, events and outings, and taking comfort in the quality care and companionship of MBK Senior Living’s friendly staff.
