Susan G. Komen for the Cure® is the world’s largest advocate for breast health and has invested more than $1.9 billion in finding the cures since its founding in 1982.  Every major advancement in breast cancer research has been funded in part by Komen dollars and several research studies are being conducted in Indiana.  Our mission is to save lives and end breast cancer forever by empowering people, ensuring quality of care for all and energizing science to find the cures.  Our vision is a world without breast cancer.

Central Indiana Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure

Komen Central Indiana raises charitable contributions from individuals, corporations and foundations to to provide support services to more than 30,000 low-income Hoosiers for education, screenings, diagnostics, treatment, navigation and survivor support.  75% of funds raised stay in Central Indiana, with the remaining 25% designated for research.   Komen Central Indiana service area consists of 21 Central Indiana counties:  Bartholomew, Boone, Brown, Clinton, Decatur, Delaware, Grant, Hamilton, Hancock, Hendricks, Henry, Howard, Johnson, Madison, Marion, Montgomery, Morgan, Rush, Shelby, Tippecanoe and Tipton.  In 2011, Komen granted $1.6 million to 17 non-profit organizations in Central Indiana. These grants are funded with a portion of the proceeds generated by the Race for the Cure, the Pink Tie Ball and other fundraising events throughout the year.
