Trust Your Heart to Texoma Medical Center

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reports that at least 200,000 people die each year of preventable heart disease and stroke. Most people think of cardiovascular disease as an older man’s disease. However, the CDC also reports that six in 10 of preventable deaths each year happen to people under the age of 65––and not to just men.

The Heart Institute at Texoma Medical Center (TMC) emphasizes quick, quality care. Accredited by the Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care as a Chest Pain Center with PCI, one of the Institute’s goals is to reduce the time between the onset of symptoms and the time patients receive diagnosis and treatment.

Save Time, Save Heart Muscle

As an accredited Chest Pain Center, the Heart Institute at TMC treats patients as quickly as possible to help preserve heart muscle. In addition, the Institute monitors patients to ensure they are not sent home too early or needlessly hospitalized.

Early Heart Attack Care, or EHAC, is a focus at the Institute. EHAC involves educating patients and the general public on how to recognize and act quickly on possible symptoms of a heart attack. Quick care can lead to better outcomes.

Comprehensive Services

The Heart Institute at TMC provides complete care, from procedures like cardiac catheterization and cardiovascular surgery, to cardiac rehabilitation. The highly skilled physicians also perform beating-heart bypass surgery.

Open-heart patients receive support before and after surgery. The Institute offers a Heart Camp to help patients prepare and an Open-Heart Support Group for help during recovery. The TMC Heart Menders volunteers are there to help throughout the process.

TMC’s Cardiac Rehabilitation program takes place in the Texoma Medical Plaza. It offers patients and their families education on living a healthy lifestyle to maintain a healthy heart.
