Junyoung “Jon” Ahn, M.D. is an Orthopedic Spine Surgeon at the Texas Back Institute, practicing in Denton and Lewisville, Texas. Dr. Ahn participated in the esteemed Texas Academy of Mathematics and Science at the University of North Texas. He then earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Neurobiology cum laude from the University of Texas. Continuing his education, Dr. Ahn earned his Doctorate of Medicine at University of Texas Southwestern. Dr. Ahn went on to complete his residency in orthopedic surgery at Rush University Medical Center before starting his fellowship training in spine surgery at the Harvard program at the Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston.
Dr. Ahn specializes in degenerative spine conditions and spinal instability. Dr. Ahn has authored numerous full-length journal articles, book chapters, and other publications. Dr. Ahn is a member of many medical organizations including the North American Spine Society (NASS), the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS), and the Korean American Spine Society.
His interest in helping those around him goes outside the bounds of healthcare. Dr. Ahn has volunteered with several community and faith-based organizations, most notably with the Catholic Charities Archdiocese of New Orleans, rebuilding homes after hurricane Katrina. Outside of the Clinic and operating room he enjoys spending time with family, cooking, and playing golf and tennis.
