Josh Cates
National Founder & CEO
LIVING WELL Magazine began as a passion—a passion that has grown since the first issue was published. National Founder & CEO Josh Cates has continually devoted energy and effort to improving the quality, content, and design with each new issue. Prior to launching LIVING WELL Magazine, Cates co-founded Unlimited Care of North Texas, a 24-hour non-medical home care agency. After 10 years in the business and caring for more than 500 families, Cates recognized the need for a quality publication for baby boomers and seniors and older in his hometown of Denton, Texas. Prior to publishing the first issue and throughout the first two years of LIVING WELL Magazine’s life, several advisory boards comprised of hospital directors and select advertisers were formed to aid the publication in reaching its full potential. These boards provided input on content, look and feel, cover story ideas, and overall focus. Additionally, several focus groups were also formed from current readers to get their input on relevant topics and issues. Today, Josh maintains his status as publisher of his two personal publications, Springfield, Missouri LIVING WELL and Scottsdale Arizona LIVING WELL. LIVING WELL Magazine has grown in its seven years and now has publishers and local editions across multiple markets in 11 states. 

  Bob Cates
 VP & CFO
Bob Cates has been a partner of and the chief financial officer for LIVING WELL Magazine since 2006. Bob is a CPA (retired status) by profession and prior to starting his own company, audited for the great state of Texas. In 1983 Bob founded Lynx Oil Co. Inc., a Texas corporation that specializes in oil and gas exploration and development. Bob was the second co-founder of Unlimited Care of North Texas.

Sondra Barr
Editor-In-Chief and Feature Story Writer 
Sondra Barr is a journalist, magazine editor, columnist, and social media director. Her experience in the areas of publishing, business development, and Internet marketing strategy, led her to start The Media Barr, Inc. As a features writer, editor-in-chief, and social media director for LIVING WELL Magazine, Barr secures and writes celebrity cover stories, directs the magazine’s online strategy, and helps develop new business opportunities. Among the celebrities and sports figures she’s profiled for LIVING WELL: Donny Osmond, Olivia Newton-John, Jane Seymour, Tom Watson, and Laird Hamilton. Prior to founding The Media Barr, Inc., she served as editor-in-chief of Go Gilbert! Magazine, a monthly lifestyle publication, where she managed editorial and photography content. She’s also been a columnist for the Arizona Republic newspaper, an assistant editor for Tycoon Magazine, and a staff member at The Ritz-Carlton Magazine. She co-founded the companies FindMyResort.com and Jet Away Golf. Barr has a BA in Journalism and Mass Communications from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism.

Jeff Rawson
Art Director
Jeff Rawson is a full time and freelance graphic designer originally from Dexter, Missouri. Throughout his education at Missouri State University, where he earned his BA in Marketing and Advertising in 2007, Jeff pursued freelance graphic design. Combining his fine arts background with the marketing knowledge gained at Missouri State, he started Jeff Rawson Design in 2009. While serving  as Marketing Specialist for the Jordan Valley Innovation Center at Missouri State University from 2007 to 2011, Jeff managed projects from web, print and  identity design to public relations and event planning. As art director for LivingWell Magazine, Jeff oversees the artistic design and layout of marketing and educational materials along with layout and production of Missouri and Kansas titles.

Megan Johnson
Layout & Production
Megan Johnson was born and raised in the Springfield, Missouri, area. After graduating high school, she continued her education at Missouri State University. Graduating in 2006 with a Bachelors of Science in Fine Art with an emphasis in Graphic Design and a minor in Art History, Megan heads the layout and production for multiple LIVING WELL titles.

Lewis Schucart
Layout & Production
Lewis Schucart has over 25 years experience in journalism, design and photography, and most recently updated and created content for a major metropolitan daily newspaper.  He has a degree in communications/print journalism and marketing from Southeast Missouri University. Schucart also handles promotion and website functions for Loewy Design, LLC, and has edited produced the website and quarterly color magazine for the Avanti Owners Association International.  He handles the layout and production for LIVING WELL titles in Texas, Oklahoma, Utah and Ohio.
