Keller Williams: It's time to get serious about buying a home – LIVING WELL Magazine

MORTGAGE RATES HAVE NOWHERE TO GO BUT UP

So now’s the time to get serious about buying a home

Mortgage rates are at historic lows and unlikely to go much lower. The recent average rate for a 30-year fixed rate mortgage was 4%. “Consumers might look back on this period six months from now and regret it if they don’t take action,” says Mona Marimow, senior vice president for Lending Tree, a loan comparison website.

With rates being this low, a homebuyer can purchase the home of their dreams that four years ago was totally out of their reach. If you do the math, in many instances the monthly total note (PITI – principal, interest, taxes, and insurance) is less than renting the same type home!

Saint Tammany has so much to offer––superior school system, low crime rate, and a high quality of life––now available at a bargain price.
