Transitional Care Suites at Cheyenne Place Retirement Community

Transitional Care Suites at Cheyenne Place Retirement Community

By Jennifer Graves, Executive Director of Cheyenne Place Retirement Community, Colorado Springs LIVING WELL Magazine

A new twist on regaining independence, Cheyenne Place Retirement Community came to the realization that over half post surgery and rehab patients are often returning home too soon. Seniors often find themselves in a situation where they are having surgeries to improve quality of life. In the mean time, insurance and Medicare benefits are making recovery a short period with not enough time to help patients regain their strength. Considering this, the staff of Cheyenne Place came up with the concept of “Transitional Care Suites” (TCS) for those who are not quite ready to make the move back home.

Transitional Care Suites are a one-bedroom apartment with full bath and kitchen. This apartment is fully furnished and includes all the amenities that a post surgery patient would be looking for. Including, walk-in shower, grab bars, 24/7 response with our pull cord in the bedroom and bathroom, housekeeping and laundry services. As a guest in this suite, you will also enjoy three meals Monday through Friday and two meals on the weekends. With a centrally located one-bedroom apartment in our main lodge, an individual will enjoy having a spectrum of amenities while regaining their independence. Other services and amenities such as skilled care with the provider of your choice, transportation to doctors appointments, social interaction and activities all in a safe and secure setting can help assist one in a speedy recovery.

This safe and secure option of the “Transitional Care Suites” at Cheyenne Place is all inclusive at the low rate of $99 per day. These suites are a must see!
