Laurel Manor Care Center brings mainstream technology to seniors

Colorado Springs LIVING WELL Magazine

Volunteers of America at Laurel Manor Care Center, located in Colorado Springs, is excited to announce their latest enhancement to the iN2L (It’s Never 2 Late) system. iN2L offers more choice, self-determination and quality of life for those who struggle with, are intimidated by, or simply do not have access to the mainstream technology that most of us take for granted.

The iN2L is dedicated to making the computer accessible and enjoyable for older adults––regardless of physical or cognitive limitations. The unique combination of adaptive hardware, software, and content delivers a person-centered experience that engages, empowers, and inspires. Through cognitively stimulating games and puzzles, physical activities, email and internet access, iN2L provides engagement for every user. The staff at Laurel Manor recently raised money and purchased a 60-inch touch screen iN2L system for their residents. We also have a smaller system that can be wheeled into resident rooms for those unable to come to the large screen. The iN2L is also used with therapy, which makes therapy time fun and more engaging, leading to better outcomes. For families that are out of town and would like to video chat with their loved one, this system does that too!
