In addition, the practice offers specialized care in rheumatology and endocrinology, including thyroid sonography and aspiration, as well as a comprehensive diabetes education program that is accredited by the American Association of Diabetes Educators.
For patients with particular dietary needs, Laureate’s staff nutritionists can provide personal counseling for conditions that may be related to food choices, habits, and environmental factors. Designed by registered dietitians and supervised by Laureate physicians, the programs are based on lifestyle approaches and can help treat individual health problems such as obesity, hypertension, diabetes, fatigue, poor immune response, and allergies. Three nine-week weight loss classes are held each year as well.
For those patients who may be eligible to participate, the practice conducts clinical trials through the Laureate Clinical Research Group. Trials are carefully monitored by board certified physicians and trained staff, and are designed to test the efficacy of new drugs or to study the use of available medications for new purposes.
