2011 Walk to End Alzheimer’s Disease
By Chet Harrell, Alzheimer’s Association, Northshore LIVING WELL Magazine
On October 15, 2011 hundreds of Northshore residents will unite in a movement to reclaim the future for millions at the Alzheimer’s Association’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s. In 2010 the Northshore Walk raised nearly $54,000, contributing to more than $42.2 million raised by participants nationwide for care, support and research efforts for those impacted by Alzheimer’s. Walk to End Alzheimer’s participants will be able to learn more about Alzheimer’s disease, advocacy opportunities, clinical trial enrollment, and support programs and services. Each walker will also join in a meaningful tribute ceremony to honor those affected by Alzheimer’s disease.
The Alzheimer’s Association is the world’s leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer’s care, support and research. Our mission is to eliminate Alzheimer’s disease through the advancement of research; to provide and enhance care and support for all affected; and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health.
