Whenever we talk about health care services and rehab we typically get two different types of people. Many people don’t understand the benefits that come with health care services and rehab services. While other people are too afraid to talk to someone about daily problems and issues that may consume their lives. This is where a professional health care service can come into play…

There are three main areas that are included in these services:

  • Health & Wellness Programs
  • Specialized Rehabilitation Services
  • Continence Management

Health & Wellness Programs

Health and wellness programs include help with balance management and pain management. Learning how to balance is important to learn, falling even once can seriously threaten your health, wellbeing, and quality of life. The best way to avoid having a fall is to know your risks and how to reduce them.

Everyone deals with pain in a different way, but chronic pain is a different matter. If you have pain from arthritis or other conditions, you may be surprised to know that there are ways to reduce you pain. Stretching and strengthening the muscles around the joint can help reduce chronic pain and improve joint movement and stability.

Specialized Rehabilitation Services

Specialized rehabilitation services include physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech-language pathology. Physical therapy provides help to restore function, improve mobility, relieve pain, and prevent or limit permanent physical disabilities of patients suffering from injuries or diseases. The goal of physical therapy is to restore, maintain, and promote overall fitness and health and accomplish this through exercise and functional skill training.

Occupational therapy helps individuals to improve their ability to perform tasks of daily living. Therapy is designed to develop, recover, and/or maintain daily living skills. The overall goal is to improve your basic motor function and reasoning abilities, and compensate for any permanent loss of function by helping you to lead a more independent, productive, and satisfying life.

Speech-language pathologists assess, diagnose, treat and help prevent disorders related to speech, language, cognitive-communication, voice, swallowing, and fluency. Individuals who cannot produce sounds or cannot produce them clearly; those with speech rhythm and fluency problems, such as stuttering; those with problems understanding and producing language; and those with cognitive communication impairments, such as attention, memory, and problem solving disorders.

Continence Management

Bladder control problems affect millions of Americans. The agencies for Healthcare Research and Quality, along with many other medical research facilities, recommend using a therapy intervention model to treat incontinence problems before using medication or undergoing surgery. A therapeutic approach to continence management will include a complete review of your unique situation. Talking about continence management can be embarrassing. Rest assured that your therapist will protect your privacy. The goal is to strengthen bladder support and control, as well as decrease accidents.
