I’m a Home Hospice patient. They asked me to share my story, I didn’t want to, but I wanted to give back so others can know my experience. It was hard to accept where I am now, but Home Hospice has helped. Home Hospice is not scary. When I open the door and see you it’s like seeing family, ones I love.
Home Hospice has given me a life, they made my Quality of Life far beyond what I thought it could be and hospice has opened up a whole new world for me to see. It’s been good. I can pick up the phone at any time and know someone is there for me even in the middle of the night to help me and talk me through. I’m heard. It’s reduced the anxiety for me knowing all I need to do is call.
My nurse took me by the hand when I couldn’t see where I was going and my social worker helped me see my life still has meaning. There is a reason God’s put special people in my life.
I’m very fortunate to be able to be in my home. Very fortunate, and I couldn’t be here if it wasn’t for the Home Hospice team. You’ve brought everything to me in my home including doctors, nurses, social workers, and even an X-ray machine! Home is usually where the Christmas tree is too and even when I didn’t want to go to the Light Up A Life event to light the tree, you brought it to my home. It truly has been home hospice.
I’m the winner and Home Hospice is the Giver and that’s truly touching. You really have helped me love myself longer.––Joyce Fletcher
