St. Andrew’s Village offers real choice, real freedom on a Continuum of Care Campus

East Denver LIVING WELL Magazine

Ideally located near the Rocky Mountains and all that Denver has to offer, St. Andrew’s Village provides real choice and real freedom when it comes to retirement living. Residents at St. Andrew’s Village enjoy exceptional service, top-tier amenities, outstanding dining, and the peace of mind that only a continuing care retirement community (CCRC) can provide. With three distinct residential living options––independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing and rehabilitation care––St. Andrew’s Village gives you the foundation to create a retirement of your own design.

Independent Living

The comfortable independent living apartments at St. Andrew’s Village range from one- to three-bedrooms and are uniquely positioned for seniors seeking an active, independent lifestyle––all within the convenience of community living. From delicious, healthy meals prepared by Chef Jason Raynes, to housekeeping services, scheduled transportation, maintenance services, a 24-hour emergency response system, to a varied assortment of engaging social and wellness programs, residents are freed from the stress of maintaining a large home so they can focus on doing what they enjoy and spending more quality time with family and friends.

Assisted Living and Beyond

St. Andrew’s Village also has 60 assisted living apartments ranging from studios to one- to two-bedroom plans, as well as a long-term nursing care center that offers 29 accommodations, with an additional 29 rooms in their short-term Medicare rehabilitation wing. The advantages are many when it comes to a continuing care retirement community. At St. Andrew’s Village, residents can feel securing knowing they’ll be able to stay in familiar surroundings as they age or their needs begin to change. Regardless of their level of independence, residents know the St. Andrew’s caring staff is available seven days a week, 24 hours a day to provide individualized support that maintains and restores health and minimizes the effects of disability and illness.

“Residents choose us because of the continuum of care,” explains Shawn Northcutt, sales and marketing director for St. Andrew’s Village. “They’re planners; they know that if they move into our independent living and anything changes and they need more help, they can get it in our assisted living, or our nursing care center––whether it’s long term or short term. They know those options are right here.”

Health and Wellness

At St. Andrew’s Village, emphasis is placed on maximizing the health of every resident. From strength training, yoga, tai chi, to walking groups, and more, exercise classes with varying experience and independence levels are available, so there is something for everyone––no matter what the fitness level. St. Andrew’s Village is also one of only a few communities in the area to have an indoor pool, so residents can enjoy a leisurely swim or partake in a number of low-impact aquatic classes. To make sure residents get the most out of what’s available, a full-time wellness coordinator is on staff to tailor customized wellness plans to meet an individual’s specific needs.

Services and Amenities

Another unique aspect to St. Andrew’s Village is just steps from the front entrance. The Village Shoppes are stores and essential services catering to the residents of St. Andrew’s Village, as well as the neighboring community. There’s a Walgreen’s with a dedicated entrance for St. Andrew’s residents, an Edward Jones, a salon, and both a vision care center and a private-pay physiotherapy rehabilitation clinic. The proximity of these services gives seniors convenient access to a pharmacy and shopping. Although, St. Andrew’s reliable scheduled transportation services makes it easy to get to appointments and activities and to visit friends and family. Meanwhile, the maintenance and housekeeping crews give seniors the chance to enjoy the comforts of home without the details of maintaining one.

Engaging Activities and Events

Residents enjoy a full calendar of events, activities, and entertainment to choose from every month––both on and off campus. On the schedule includes a wealth of entertaining and informative speakers, special interest presentations, group contests, movies, social hours, and unique theatrical and opera performances. St. Andrew’s Village also hosts a live music happy hour in their bistro every other Friday, along with hosting popular bridge and poker games each week. “We cater to our residents and we’re always adding to our activities program,” says Northcutt.

Affordability

“We really focus on giving our residents the right to choose not only from an activity and wellness program standpoint, but also from a financial standpoint,” says Northcutt. St. Andrew’s Village is one of the few retirement communities that offers residents the choice between a rental program option, or an entrance fee option––often referred to as a buy-in. “Residents can choose to do a rental, or if they want they can put down a larger sum of money and reduce the monthly fee they pay, while giving themselves some really great asset protection by doing the buy-in option,” explains Northcutt. St. Andrew’s Village also offers wonderful move-in incentives, which includes up to two free months if a resident moves in by the end of the year.

The continuum of care concept allows for real choice and real freedom and is a chance for you to enjoy a retirement of your own design. At St. Andrew’s Village, an exiting, carefree retirement awaits.
