Staying Young & Living Social

Are you happy with your smile? Can you eat the foods you love? Do you have loose dentures? What about missing teeth? Do you know that missing teeth can result in a significant amount of bone loss, which eventually leads to premature aging?

Maybe a loss of self-esteem has caused you to feel older than you really are. Maybe you are ashamed to smile or you experience difficulty chewing and swallowing food. Perhaps you avoid eating in public because it makes you feel uncomfortable. Or maybe you have found yourself withdrawn from social interactions and no longer go out in public because of your smile. These types of issues can cause many forms of social embarrassment if not taken care of by an experienced dentist

With 30 years of dentistry in the Texoma area and 27 years of experience in the placement and complete restoration of dental implants, Dr. John Shoemaker’s expert knowledge and experience allows him to solve any dental problem you might have. He offers a variety of dental services ranging from a simple filling to the most complex, full-mouth implant reconstruction. His practice is unique in that it is the only Texoma dental practice that offers advanced general, cosmetic and implant dentistry that can handle all complex dental care from start to finish in one office location (including the surgeries). When necessary, he offers the comfort of oral or IV sedation (sleep through your treatment) while under the care of our anesthesiologist. Moreover, his dental office is the only dental office of its kind in Texoma that gives you a “Peace of Mind” dental warranty with your care.

In a constant effort to provide you with the best options possible, Shoemaker spends a minimum of two to three weeks per year in continuing education to ensure that you receive the best and most current dental care. And while continuing education is often associated with a professional meeting or weekend conference, it is important to note that continuing education is an ongoing process. No matter the age, a dentist should always be in a state of learning.

One major part of Shoemaker’s continuing education is reflected in his Diplomate Status, which he received from the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI) earlier this year. He is only one of 34 Texas dentists, one of 596 U.S. dentists and one of 1,221 worldwide dentists to have achieved this status. The awarding of Diplomate status is the highest honor a professional society, such as ICOI, can bestow on a dental professional involved in oral implantology. The ICOI conducts a Diplomate program in which active members are encouraged to achieve Diplomate status through their efforts in education, research and actual clinical experience. Advanced Credential Committee interviews and testing are required.

Our goal is to help you enjoy the benefits of good dental health for the rest of your life. While today’s dentistry makes this goal possible for practically everyone, Shoemaker realizes that you are unique with preferences of your own. Therefore, he personalizes each patient’s treatment plan accordingly. Furthermore, he has handpicked each member of his highly-trained dental team in order to best serve you.
